The best time management games and app to improve productivity (Video)

In the video above, our expert coach Sabrina Cadini shared the best time management games (plus the best app) to time mindfulness and improve productivity while you have fun.

The concept of gamification is a great way of learning that offers several benefits:

  • It requires you to plan and strategize, and by doing that, you will improve problem-solving skills and learn to solve real-life work challenges.

  • If you’re playing with your team, you will learn how to cooperate and utilize the time you have in the best way possible. This means no more missed deadlines, no more poor performance, and no more being late at meetings!

  • It also relieves stress during a difficult workday because playing is fun!

The games shared can be played both at the office and remotely, and you can use them as team-building exercises, icebreakers, or even add them to your trainings for your employees.

The first game shared is:

Time Squared

For this game, you will need to print 3 pages with 24 squares each. The squares represent the 24 hours we all have in a day.

Start by sharing the 1st page with your employees, explaining that each square represents one hour of a day, and ask them to fill out the squares with routine activities that they do during the day (sleeping, getting ready, meals, exercise, watching TV, spending time with family and friends, etc.).

Then, share the 2nd page with the team, and ask them to fill out those squares with non-working activities at work (this could include private calls, coffee breaks, etc.).

Next, share the 3rd page with the team, and ask them to compare the first two papers, and mark the empty squares in the third page. Those empty squares will show their opportunity for ‘productive time.’

This game can be played throughout the day, and this will allow your employees to see where their time is going.

Once the game is completed, great questions to ask the team would be:

  • How could you improve the time you spend each day?

  • Would you change anything in the data you collected in those pages? How can you reorganize that time?
