What can I journal about? (Video)

If you’re new to journaling, you may feel stuck because you don’t know where to start. What should you write about? You can really write about anything you’d like, there’s no right or wrong about the practice. Don’t think too much about it. Just let your thoughts flow and write whatever comes to your mind.

This might sound easier said than done, and if you still need some guidance, keep reading for some ideas.

Journaling in the morning

You can use any of these prompts:

  • What can I be grateful for today?

  • What am I excited about today?

  • What is most important to me right now?

These will help you set an intention for the day in front of you.

Journaling in the evening

You can use any of these prompts when you dedicate some time before going to bed:

  • You can write about the following:

  • What did I learn today?

  • What happened today?

  • How did I feel today?

  • What decisions or choices did I make and what happened as a result?

You can also use your journal to…

  • Keep a diary of your daily life

  • List random thoughts

  • Write down your dreams

  • Reflect on things that you like about yourself, or things that you’d like to change about yourself

  • Thank people you love in your life, and why

And there’s much more that you can journal about! Watch the video above where our expert coach Sabrina Cadini shared some useful tips and more prompts (plus a great book filled with lists) to start journaling or improving your practice for long-lasting results.
